Grange Farm Oak offers a very clean source of chippings.  Off-cuts are an unavoidable by-product of processing timber but, when chipped, can be of great use.  The slab wood is chipped straight from sawing into bulk bags reducing the chance of any contamination.  It is biodegradable, environmentally friendly and great for use around the garden – perfect for play areas, weed control in borders and beds and in planters and tubs.  Woodchip should be applied 2” to 3” thick for garden use and 4” to 6” for play areas.

Because our product is approximately 80% solid oak and 20% bark, there is no leaf or twig content thus producing a longer-lasting product.

Play Areas

Around any play apparatus, a grass surface can be hard and unforgiving in the summer and muddy and slippy in winter.  Woodchips offer a great alternative, summer and winter, providing a soft surface around any play area, allowing water to drain away and preventing the soil from turning to mud in the wet.
